A Suffolk Foray
Once more a group of intrepid Wayland Mens Shedders took a chance and slipped over the border into the dangerous and mostly uncharted land known locally a Woodbridge. Armed with their cameras our brave souls eagerly set about photographing areas along the waterfront including boats resting on the riverbed mud as well as numerous wading birds seeking out a morsel of food before the rush of the incoming tide. A relaxing walk along the banks of the river Deben then ensued providing even more photographic opportunities. The flutterists among them enthusiastically pointed out to the less knowledgeable the identities of our wading friends giving details of their calls and feeding habits.
With food in mind we returned to the waterfront and following a review of some nearby lunch establishments we decided to try our luck at a hostelry locally known as the Anchor Public House. This proved to be an excellent suggestion as we were treated to the most delicious plates of “battered haddock, chips and peas”. As one we each awarded our meal 11 out of 10 using the well-known Haile Scale of deliciousness.
We had a cracking day out and returned unscathed to the safety of Norfolk where we’ll seek out new places to explore in the coming months.
