Dawn at Sea Palling
Despite the warmth of my bed I was able rouse myself and get ready to meet up with other members of my local camera club to capture some photographs of the early morning light and dawn at the beach at Sea Palling, Norfolk.
This was my first visit to this location and to be honest having explored the area via Google I did not feel particularly inspired what I thought would be on offer. How wrong I was. There was quite a keen onshore wind, but a beautiful clear sky was coloured by a warm orange glow as we waited with trepidation for the sun to break the horizon.
I was amazed just how fast the tide was creeping up the beach towards us and it was inevitable that I would soon have wet feet. My discomfort was soon forgotten as the sun began to cast a golden glow over the scene. However, this was tinged with sadness as nearby we discovered the body of a young seal that had succumbed to the treacherous currents around the sea defences and was lying lifeless (and headless) angled towards the sea.
Despite this I really enjoyed my visit to Sea Palling and look forward to visiting it again in the not too distant future.
