Inspirational Kick
A few years ago, together with a friend, I enrolled in a City & Guild Photography Course organised by Adult Education Dept within Norfolk County Council. One of the first assignments I was given was to identify a photographer who specialised in a genre of photography to which I was attracted. I have always liked low light images taken in towns and cities and after some research I came upon a French photographer who was very active in this field during the 1930’s His name was Brassai and having delved into his history and portfolio of images I became hooked. It was as though I’d been kicked in the rear end by a very large and inspiration boot and was keen to see more of his work. We’re fortunate here in Norfolk as the main library in Norwich had a copy of his work “Paris By Night” published in the late 1930’s. If this type of work interests you I can highly recommend a visit to the library……you won’t be disappointed. Like me you’ll be inspired.
