STAYING LOCAL
Responding to Covid “travel restrictions” I made the decision to limit the extent of the distance I needed to travel to find what I considered to be landscape opportunities.
As a result the idea of finding big vistas and sweeping landscapes (or seascapes) were not an option so the notion of “Staying Local” with my camera began to take shape as did “near” or “intimate” landscape photographs.
So, keeping within 12 miles of my home address I found locations to explore in Thetford Forest as well as the Norfolk Wildlife Trust site at Wretham Heath where I could apply myself and hopefully hone my photographic skills creating images under the project heading “Staying Local.”
By stepping into the quiet beauty of woodland landscapes, I have tried to capture a sense of calm and presence. Each image reflects not only the natural world, but also the mindful moments of stillness it inspires.
