Once More To the Woods

Another Sunday morning walk found me in yet another part of Thetford forest where I hadn’t previously ventured.  Since discovering the work of a really brilliant woodland photographer, Simon Baxter, I now look at the woodland in a completely different way.

Following Simon’s advice; rather than looking for the trees to make an image I now seek out the compositions that the trees make within the overall scene.

This particular image is one that draws the viewer’s  eye into the centre of the photograph where what appears to be a dead tree  that seems is supported on each side by two near neighbours. Also, the fact that the background is slightly in mist provides a degree of separation to the main element of the photograph.

Still much to learn but really enjoying the challenge so watch this space..
